This December, the magic of Osijek's Advent will last from November 30 to December 31 and will fill the hearts of its residents and dear guests with warmth and excitement, as the city on the Drava once again puts on its most beautiful sparkling attire.
Advent in Osijek is a time when the city exudes unity and love, and its beauty becomes the inspiration for the most beautiful Christmas cards that travel to all corners of the world. However, even the most beautiful card isn’t complete if we don’t fill it with good wishes. This year, Advent in Osijek brings the magic of good wishes that will spread throughout the city and far beyond its borders. Through a simple yet heartfelt gesture, visitors will have the opportunity to send their messages and wishes to family, friends, and loved ones, no matter where they are.
You will be able to send your good wishes from Osijek’s old town core, the Citadel, whose Baroque charm leaves no one indifferent. Trinity Square will be the center of holiday cheer, filled with wooden houses wafting the aromas of holiday treats, while thousands of lights illuminate the stage. Here, you’ll find a place to create memories – whether you’re looking for a unique gift for a loved one, tasting the gastronomic offerings, taking photos, or simply enjoying the joyful holiday atmosphere. In the Dome of Good Wishes, you’ll find everything needed for your digital or physical Christmas cards.
Besides the rich musical program, various workshops and outdoor presentations will be organized in cooperation with Osijek’s associations and creative individuals.
The youngest visitors will surely be delighted by Santa’s Central Office, which will once again open its doors at the Archaeological Museum of Osijek, as well as the amusement park with a Ferris wheel in King Držislav Park. In addition to the always-attractive skating rink and Christmas tram, numerous cultural and sports institutions in the city will also join the Advent celebration.
Furthermore, the beauty of Osijek's Advent will extend to other attractive locations in the city, allowing us to once again enjoy attractions such as the largest Christmas tree below the co-cathedral of Sts Peter and Paul and the light decorations that will connect the city center with Tvrđa.
